The National Community Wood Recycling Project (NCWRP) was founded in 2003 to help set up and develop a nationwide network of wood recycling social enterprises. Their aim is to save resources by rescuing and re-using waste timber that would otherwise be landfilled. By creating sustainable jobs, as well as training and volunteering opportunities, they aim to help those who might find it difficult to get employment and back on their feet. There is a workshop on site where volunteers can learn how to craft unique furniture pieces and increase their carpentry skills. These furniture pieces are sold at the store on site or to private clients.
