Solo Wood Recycling is a non-profit social enterprise processing waste timber in South London. It accepts all waste timber from individuals, large-scale demolition contractors and everyone in between. They are an ethically motivated company who provide jobs within the local community. A mixture of employees and volunteers break down the timber into pieces and grade it. This allows customers to choose the materials relevant to their project. They work with designers, builders and hobbyists on projects of all scales. Workshops allow timber to be cut and furniture to be made on site. As a reseller they accept all pieces of wood even the ones having small sizes and weird shapes. To incite people to use these small and weird wood offcuts, they sell them for free, as a donation area. Only when the wood rots, they send them themselves to biomass or they are burned as firewood when people from poor communities are coming.
