- They are particularly interested in hand-made bricks and roof tiles that are no longer on the market.
Westvlaamse Steencentrale was initially a shop dealing in new materials, but since the 1990s they have also specialised in reusable materials. They have a wide range of reclaimed bricks and roof tiles, and to a lesser degree tiles and pavers. Their stock includes small batches of roof tiles and bricks that can no longer be bought off the shelf, and which have unusual dimensions. It is particularly during the summer months that they are likely to have large batches in stock.
They can, on request, seek out all types of brick in less common shapes and colours. They have accumulated an impressive knowledge of the building materials used in the region, and of their history. In Hungary, they recently found the type of brick needed for the restoration of the Ten Duinen abbey in Koksijde.
