JCS AS' mission is environmental, human and economical sustainability all at once. The company consists of craftsmen working with building traditional techniques: carpentry, dry-stone walling, roofing and some joinery, focussing on the restoration of historical buildings. The creation of their own 'Materialbank' followed from their experiences in the building industry, and the mass of good materials they saw being thrown away. They focus on wooden components (beams, doors, windows, flooring, cladding) but also take roofing material, old furniture or ovens on stock. Additionally, the company also dismantles entire buildings, to be resold as a building kit, after carrying out the necessary restoration works.
