Transport Dismanteling Installation

Composil started in 1992 as a cleaning and maintenance company for office carpet tiles and textile furniture, but has extended their services to the reuse and recycling of carpet tiles called the Carpet ReUse Program.

In their Carpet ReUse Program, they take care of the carpet tiles through their entire life span, from the installation, to the regular cleaning of the tiles, to their deinstallation and sorting for either reuse or recycling at the end of the carpet’s life.

For their reuse and recycling services, they inspect the carpet tiles on site and sort the areas into two categories: to be reused if they are in excellent condition; to be recycled if they have any defects, warping, stains, or excessive wear. The carpet tiles that are suitable for reuse are cleaned on site while they are still on the ground, then removed and transported off the site by Composil’s crew.

Composil collaborates with a carpet manufacturer called Tarkett, to whom they send all the carpet tiles that are sorted for recycling. A machine separates the fibers from the backing, both of which may be recycled into new carpet tiles, depending on the material of the backing.

Although the majority of their stock of carpets isn’t kept at their location in Wavre, they keep samples of all their carpets on hand to show clients. The reused carpets range in prices depending on their condition, but are always half the price of the same new carpets.
