„Depot Historische Baustoffe“, a relic itself, is a storage for reclaimed historic building materials from the DDR. Back then it was founded for the lack of import and export possibilities at the time and it´s now run by the City of Quedlinburg.

Because of the high quality and the historic importance of the materials there is a guideline for their sale.

The Materials can be provided for free if the city council approves your project. According to the guidelines the materials must be used in historic buildings sited in and around Quedlingburg. A member of the municipal administration and a specialist for building preservation, Sophia Dombrowski, examines the building and by determining the construction year helps choosing the right material for every specific project.

The Depot offers a wide range of up to 400-year-old building materials which come mainly from demolution sites. They include Tiles, wooden beams, bricks, windows and more than 1000 doors.

Though the city is in charge of the distribution of the materials other services like transport, delivery and installation have to be organized by the customer.

Depot Historische Baustoffe, selbst ein Denkmal, ist ein Lager für historische Baumaterialien, das in der Zeit der DDR, aufgrund des Mangels von Import und Export, gegründet und heute von der Stadt Quedlinburg betrieben wurde.

Wegen der Hochwertigkeit und dem historischen Wert der Materialien ist eine Richtlinie zur Ausgabe der Baustoffen beschlossen worden.

Die Materialien werden für von der Stadt genehmigte Bauprojekte teilweise auch umsonst zur Verfügung gestellt. Laut der Richtlinie müssen alle Baustoffe eine sinnvolle Verwendung  in historischen Gebäuden in und um Quedlinburg finden. Ein Mitglied der städtischen Verwaltung und Denkmalpflege-Spezialistin, Frau Sophia Dombrowski, untersucht das Baujahr des entsprechenden Gebäudes und kann so bei der Auswahl der passenden Materialien helfen.

Das Depot bietet eine große Auswahl von bis zu 400 Jahre alte Materialien, die häufig aus dem Abriss von Gebäuden stammen. 

Unter anderem werden Dachziegel, Holzträger, Holzbalken, Backstein sowohl auch Fenster und über 1000 alte Türen ausgestellt.

Obwohl sich die Stadt für die Organisation der Ausgabe kümmert, müssen Dienstleistungen wie Transport, Lieferung und Montage von den Kunden selbst organisiert werden.
